LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — As of now, the Washington Nationals will have just one player representing them on July 15 at the All-Star Game in Minneapolis.

Jordan Zimmermann, who learned of the invitation before Sunday’s win over the Chicago Cubs, is the only player from skipper Matt William’s squad to have been named to the team. The righty was also named an All-Star in 2013, but did not pitch in the game at Citi Field.

Zimmermann has been on a tear over the past month, registering 3 wins and a minuscule 1.26 ERA. Overall this year, the 28-year-old has compiled a 6-4 record with a 2.79 ERA in 18 starts.

Infielder Anthony Rendon could join Zimmermann in Minneapolis if fans voting him in on a five man ballot for the final spot on the NL roster. Rendon is hitting .282 with 12 home runs and 50 RBI through Sunday and ranks in the NL’s top 10 in runs (60), triples (5), and extra-base hits.

Also vying for votes are Miami Marlins third baseman Casey McGehee, Colorado Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau, Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo and Atlanta Braves outfielder Justin Upton.

How To Vote

Fans can cast votes for the All-Star Game Final Vote until 4 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday, July 10.

Online: MLB.com

Text: Text the word “VOTE” to 89269 to receive a full ballot. Fan can vote for Rendon specifically by texting “N3″ to 89269.
